Resist Violence Mission

The Global Call to action against the epidemic of violence. Gun violence, domestic violence, rape, sexual assault, bullying and abuse needs to be done on all fronts. That's why this a global online & offline protest against the pro gun lobbies who want more guns in our streets. A protest against our governments and justice systems who continue to blame the victims and make no effort to protect those who need protecting.

Everyone can take a part in this movement by telling their personal stories of how violence has affected and continues to affect their daily lives. Gun violence in the streets of Chicago & Newton to a violent rape in India, enough is enough. Tell your story, organize support groups and meetings to discuss how to bring about change. Protest outside of the courts, politcal party headquarters, and government buildings to grab the attention of elected officials. Because when 100,000 people take to the streets to say WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH change will come.

What Can I Do???

• Make videos about how violence has affected you in your life
• Submit stories to the blog ( http://resistviolence.tumblr.com/submit )
• Share your video and stories with your social networks
• Post your stories in your local publications
• Email your local, state, and federal leaders to make a plan against gun violence, domestic violence, rape, assault, and abuse.

 

Offline:
• Gather with other activist and have meetings and support groups to discuss ideas and creative ways to make change.
• Have a letter writing party and send your stories of how violence has affected you and continues to do so.
• Send those letters to your elected officials.

 

In The Streets:
• Protest outside of your local, state, and federal legislative buildings and make your voices heard.
• Demand an Assault Weapons Ban
• Demand better Mental Heathcare access
• Demand the passage of the Violence Against Women Act
• Demand quicker justice for victims of rape, assault, and abuse
• Demand jobs and more opportunities for the youth and take the guns out of their hands.
